VT’s self-powered transformer monitoring solution provides continuous real-time monitoring of transformer phase current, capacity and temperature. This provides operators with the real-time accurate field data which is used to make more optimised and informed capacity planning and investment decisions. This is vitally important with the significant expected increase in demand from the electrification of heat and transport over the next decade. 

The Trafo-Scope has been designed to monitor phase current and temperature only. It does not require a voltage connection or an external power source. As a result it can be installed within minutes. It has been designed for safe and easy install, requiring no physical contact with the transformer. No tools or asset down time is required. Battery life is 10+ years. 

The Trafo-Scope is deployed across LV distribution assts to provide continuous remote monitoring of capacity and transformer loading. Feeding data directly into the Electron Cloud™, the solution helps manage the transformer health status in real time through machine learning and alert of performance anomalies.
