Data storage

By purchasing a device from the VT store, or submitting your personal data, you agree to the following methods of data storage:

  • Your personal data, excluding credit card information, is stored on servers in Ireland. VT does not retain any credit card data.
  • We may transfer your collected data to storage outside the European Economic Area (EEA). It may be processed outside the EEA to fulfil your order and deal with payment. Where we may need to process or deal with your personal data outside of Ireland, we will ensure that such transfer is in compliance with this Privacy Policy or is permitted under applicable data protection and privacy laws and regulations. The laws applicable to the protection of personal data in such countries may be different from those applicable in your home country. The personal data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the EEA. It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. By using the Website, you consent to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe, in the processing of your payment, may transfer your data outside of the EEA, including to jurisdictions like the United States. In this instance, your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located. By completing your transaction, you agree to Stripe’s Terms and Conditions.

Disclosure

VT may disclose certain personal information to strategic trusted third parties that work with us. VT may disclose certain information when:

  • The possibility of the sale of our business, or our company arises. We have the right to disclose your information to any potential buyers.
  • Required to do so by law, or by any competent authority;
  • The legal obligation to do so arises, or in order to protect other people’s property, safety or rights;
  • Exchanging information with third parties to protect you and VT against fraud or credit risks.
  • If there is an issue with your device, and we have discussed it with you, we may provide your data to the device manufacturer in order to more effectively troubleshoot the problem.

How long will your data be retained?

VT will retain your data for a period of two years after the last transaction in order to provide appropriate product and customer support. After this time, your data will be deleted. Only employees who need to have access to your data in order to fulfill our contract with you will be granted access. These employees are subject to a confidentiality agreement.

Customer’s rights

  • In accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, you have the “Right of Access” to know what and how much information we hold about you. A Subject Access Request must be made to VT in writing by mailing VT, DCU Alpha, Old Finglas Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11, D11 KXN4, Ireland. We require proof of your identity before any information can be released. After receiving proof of identity, we will send the requested information within one month.
  • You also have the “Right of rectification or erasure”, which allows you to have the personal data we retain about you corrected or erased. You can do this at any time by emailing us at info@vtelectron.com, and we will comply with your request within one month.

Entire Policy

  • This Privacy Policy supersedes all prior privacy agreements made between you and VT;
  • By purchasing product from VT, or filling in your personal data, you accept this entire Privacy Policy to be applicable;
  • Please note that neither our Terms and Conditions, nor our policies, including this Privacy Policy, apply to other websites than info@vtelectron.com.
  • Any changes made to our Privacy Policy will be made public on this page. We hold the right to contact you about changes in our Policy as well.
